I haven't done a "Confession Time" in a long time, so I thought I would share a few confessions that all relate to my clothes.
Once again, I am a little hesitant to share, but I here I go...
Confession #1: I lay out my clothes every night before I go to bed for the next day. every. single. night. And I lay out everything: shoes, jewelry, undergarments, clothes, etc. Everything. Why? Because if I don't, I am a wreck the next morning. You can ask my best friend/college roommate, Nichole. She used to give me a hard time in college. But then one night in college, I didn't lay out my outfit and the next morning was awful {this neat freak's room looked like the aftermath of a tornado}. So it seems that I am very decisive at night and extremely indecisive in the morning. Is anyone else a "lay out their outfit the night before" kind of girl?
Confession #2: This one is the hardest to admit, because I don't want to appear snooty. I don't wear the same outfit twice in a semester. My family and friends give me SUCH a hard time about this fact. Let me do a little explaining: I DEFINITELY wear the same clothing items multiple times in a semester, but I just try to mix-and-match things to have different "outfits". Also, I am not a shopaholic. I seriously haven't been on a shopping spree since last August. So how do I do it? I try to buy classic pieces {especially skirts} that can be worn with lots of different tops and accessories. My favorite black cardigan {that I have on today} is from 8th grade. Yep. And my skirt and top are from Maurices {high school days}. Classic is the key. :)
Confession #3: I despise ironing. despise. like really despise. I think I have used my iron once. I am a "throw it in the dryer" girl. Or "take it to the dry cleaner" girl. Or "who cares" girl. :) Any fellow iron despisers out there?!

So... are any of you all wanting to confess anything now? :)

New to your blog, but I HATE ironing too! Haven't ironed in years...fun post! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have clothes from middle school too, haha! Love it! I need to start planning my outfit the night before because sometimes I do end up throwing stuff everywhere looking for something or being indecisive. And I always throw my clothes in the dryer rather than ironing them - so I totally understand. :)
ReplyDeletelove it! Nick irons EVERYTHING and it is crazy...I definitely am a "who cares" girl but mainly I just try to buy things that don't require ironing!
ReplyDeleteI should totally go back to my "lay it out the night before" days...that might definitely cut down on some of the blank stares into the closet mornings!
I hang everything after washing to avoid ironing and hanging it in the bathroom whilst you shower tends to steam out the wrinkles too. And if it still has wrinkles; hey it's meant to be like that- its my style!
ReplyDeleteI hate having to pick something out in the morning and the only reason I have an iron is for when I sew :)
ReplyDeleteI lay my clothes out the night before, otherwise I'm spending a lot of time in the morning searching for an outfit and then I'll be late to school lol :)

I HATE ironing as well! I do not iron anything...My husband on the other hand, irons everything almost everyday! I also just stick it in the dryer...I am a true believer in the dryer method!

I lay out EVERYTHING too! I've also trained my kids to do the same. Its just smart!
ReplyDeleteHa!! I LOVE this post!!!
ReplyDeleteI most definitely lay my clothes out the night before if we have to be somewhere the next morning. Saturday nights I lay everyone's clothes out....or else like you it turns into a tornado of clothes. Makes for a much smoother morning!
And I am so with you on wearing outfits twice! I secretly pencil into my calendar what outfits I wear to church on sunday so I never repeat;) haha!
Hope you had a good Tuesday friend!
I don't lay my clothes out the night before, but I think I should - to save all that panicky, rushed trying-on minutes before I have to actually go somewhere. If I'm just staying at home (and this is really kind of embarrassing), I rewear my jeans and yoga pants. For maybe a week straight. Ugh! But I won't stop!
ReplyDeleteI do lay my clothes out the night before. I have to get up very early for work and would never be able to put together an outfit that early. I am so used to laying out my work clothes that I lay out my clothes on other days too. It just works best for me. Also, I really enjoy reading your blog. Thank you for sharing your faith with the world. If you have time, I would love it if you would stop by my blog. It is all about everything the Lord is doing in my life. I just recently started this blog when I felt moved by God to do it. I was pretty hesitent at first (and was completely clueless about blogs) but now I'm excited and pray that God will bring many people to the blog. The site is www.Hislivingwords.blogspot.com . Thanks :)
